Grammar

however

Hi.
Choose the correct ending. Sometimes both endings are possible.

It was supposed to be sunny today,
a) however, it looks like it's going to rain.
b) so perhaps this rain will stop soon.

According to the key, both are correct. In my opinion, "a)" is not, because "However" links two sentences, not two clauses. So with "however" the sentence(s) would go: It was supposed to be sunny today. However, it looks like it's going to rain.

What do you think?
