Is this a correct use of "however"?

I thought there had to be a semi colon or at the start of a sentence.

well i think what he means by his final sentence is to place a semi colon like this:

You may; however, take more time





but i think it is not right..if u leave it like this is fine.

Thanks, soumaya. I didn't think of that. What you suggest would be correct, but unlikely; and would still need a period.

So, both versions would be okay.

A full stop would be more natural than the semi.

You may. However, I suggest you take more time.
