Would it make a difference? Lets say both.

I wanted to use the form "so... as to"

as in

Don't be so naive as to believe everything you hear.

so I thought

Don't drink so much as to say something yo don't mean.

Don't drink so much as to say something you don't mean.It doesn't sound good in this sentence. Although I know your meaning, the sentence sounds awkward. I just wouldn't use "so....as to" there, and I think that native speakers generally wouldn't say that.

Could I ask you something that has to do with "so... as to" please?

Someone told me that you could only use "so... as to" could only be used in assertive sentences and not negations

He's so stupid as to do that. assertive therefore WRONG

He's not so stupid as to do that. negation therefore CORRECT

But in 1

1 The only way to overcome this was to take the bend at such a speed as to induce a skid.

That's an asservite sentence so "as to" shouldn't be used according to that person, I'm guessing.

The natural way to say that is 'He's stupid enough to do that.'

He's not so stupid as to do that. negation therefore CORRECT Again, whether a sentence with "so...as to" is positive or negative is not what makes it wrong or correct.

Don't try to force phrases like "so as to" into sentences when you can express the meaning in a more simple way. "so...as to" is not very commonly used.
