How would you say opposite to modern times

I want to say something happened in the 60-80s relative to today I can't say ancient times, older times sounds strange, long time ago again not the one I'm looking for, the only way I can say it would be at less modern times? What would be the opposite of modern?

And vice versa if I would say something happened at a more modern times/day.

Yea I don't know how to say it.
