How would you punctuate this sentence?

The very first thing I remember was there was a car stopped underneath a yellow flashing light.

Top answer

I wouldn't add any punctuation. I would add one word in order to make a proper noun clause. " Cheers John.

Someone's copy of the Ethan Frome, a novel, was found in the room; but my copy of the play Our Town is missing.

I would remove "the" before "Ethan Frome".
