How would I redo this sentence with the verb correlate?

It would make learning easy when students can make a connection between what an item looks like and what's called.

(I'm working on an assignment about flashcards)

Why are you saying 'would'? It gives an odd meaning, and in terms of grammar it doesn't fit with the rest of the sentence. Say eg It makes learning easy when students can correlate what an item looks like and what it is called.

You're right, I have a tendency to say would and so do some students in my class. I really have to watch myself to break this habit.

Thank you Clive for helping me once again.
