I was trying to write a sentence with base as a verb. Is this correct? Is it correct having 'the fact' 2 times?
I based the fact that the team had no chance of winning the game on the fact that there was only 5 minutes left in the game and not enough time to make a comeback.

Re 6, I would say "If animals have a superior ability to feel danger coming, ...", or if you want to use instinct, you could say "If animals have an instinctive ability to feel danger coming, ...".

Re 8, yes, I think "feels tight" conveys the right idea. A "tight fit" can imply an uncomfortably tight fit, at least for a mouthpiece. A "snug fit" would imply tight but not unco

These all mean pretty much the same thing.

"Wall separation" isn't an idiom. "Wall of separation" is an idiomatic phrase, but it doesn't
