[how worried I was/I was worried]

Ahmed, Where have you been? Do you know [how worried I was/I was worried]?

Is there any difference?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I think 'how' should be 'how much'. Because 'how much' shows the degree of how much the person has worried. Does this make sense?

  • Also after 'do you + verb' it should be ' how much (or any other wh's) + subject + verb '.

VictorycountryWell, I think 'how' should be 'how much'.

Not in the tone and structure in the original! Has the question been "Do yo know how much everyone is worried about you?" then it's fine.

Because 'how much' shows the degree of howtio much the person has worried.

I understand the grammar structure of the second one 'do you know that I was worried'.

However, The first one, 'do you know how worried I was', well, it sounds like it's got a bit stronger emphasis, I mean it's like a angry mum's tone on her child for something wrong the child has done.

It's the same grammar structure as 'How wonderful that day was!', isn't it?
