How to Write Numbers in my Sentence

My sentence: "I spend eight hours at my house and the other 16 at the library."

I know I'm supposed to spell out the number if it's under 10 but does it matter that I spell one out and just write "16" if it's in the same sentence? Because I think I would normally just write "16?" What's the rule here? Thanks!
