In sentence "I asked my sister to take care of ... mother." should I use: "my", "our", "the", or no article (and capitalize "Mother")? More generally, should I use "mother", "Mother", or "the mother" when referring to my mother in an essay? Thanks!

In an essay that also mentions brothers and sisters, it is a bit awkward to constantly switch between "my mother" and "our mother". If talking about someone else's family, the capitalized "Mother" may be inappropriate as it only refers to the author's mother. Should we then write "mother" or "the mother", or keep switching among "their", "his", "her" etc.?
'the mother' is quite odd in a family story; otherwise, there is no way of judging word choice except within the specific context. Pronouns, however, should be used just as we use them in other texts.
