how to write an official letter to customer

Dear MountainHiker,
I have an email to my customer like this" Dear all Valued Customer,

Please be informed that the shelf- life printed on bag change from 01st Apr,2013 as below :

Old : 5 years from date of packing
New: 3 years from date of packing

Thank you for your interest. "
They request me to send an official letter .

Kindly help me .Thank you very much
