How to write a welcome letter to new boss from previous company

Hi,

My head of department of my previous company(DEF) will join my current company(ABC) as VP. He is a nice guy and I simply want to write him a welcome email.

Here is my draft:

Dear David,

Welcome to ABC!

Please accept my warmest congratulations and I look forward to supporting you in your new role.

Best regards,
KK (ex-colleague from DEF)
