How to write a permission letter to government for family illness???Please help!!!

I need to know how to write a letter of permission to the company i work for so that i can given some days off to writs my forthcoming exams.

I don't know your company or its culture. Can you simply fire off an e-mail? Do you need a formal letter? Does the company have a policy regarding this topic?

In any event, I think a very short letter, a couple of sentences, ought to be adequate.
