This is part of a letter you receive from an English-speaking friend, Tim, who is coming on holiday to your country.
We will be spending a day in your town during our coach tour. Do you think we must meet? If so, what should we do? As this will be my first visit to your area, I want to give your parents a present, can you give me a suggestion?
Write your letter (about 80-100 words), suggesting how you will both spend the day together. DO NOT write any addresses.
*Answer:
Dear Tim,
I am writing to you to make some suggestions on how we will spend the day together. We must definitely meet because we have not seen each other ever since we studied in two different cities. Since this is your first time in my area, I have a plan. In the morning, we will eat a special soup at one of the finest restaurant in the area and we will go to a café next because we will have a lot talk about, I think. In the afternoon, we will have lunch at my house and mom is going to make some local dishes and then we will pay a visit to some places of interest. In the evening, I will show you around the megamall and we can have some ice-cream and see a movie there. In terms of the present, I think a bunch of flowers would be fine.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Your friend,
John
I heard that we should not write things like “Long time no see. How are you?” and such expressions in formal letters or emails, especially business ones. Is that true and are we allowed to do that in informal letters?
Thank you very much for your help<3

That is very very informal. It is not grammatical English.

That is a personal question. Generally we do not ask such questions in business communications.
