How to use "yet" in questions?

Can I say:

Have you read my new book yet?

or is more appropiate

Haven't you read my new book yet?

I think in English is more natural say "Have you read my new book?" without the yet, but I've seen that people use the yet in that cases

Could you explain me?

Is correct both in affirmative questions and in negatives?
