HOW TO USE VERB "TO BE" as a main verb?

Hello

When I read novels I notice some sentences like

I have been here before

Alex have been to France

he have been there

His voice had not been like her

And after some research on internet I found that we use have been as past participle of verb "to be"

Please tell me when we use "have been" ?

And also about use of verb "to be" as main verb?
