I've recently watched a video about how to use thereby in a sentences. According to that, I've written following sentence. Please someone tell me whether it is grammatically correct and it makes sense.

Furthermore, depending on the waste disposal or recycling measures, it might lead to high air and soil pollution, thereby posing numerous negative effects on the environment.
