How to use the word 'due' in this circumstance?

{I borrowed some books from the library, and "are due yesterday", but I didnt realize it. So I'm here to pay the find.}

Today I'm going to explain to staff of the library. Do the senteces above sound natural? Would someone help me correct the sentence pls, thanks a lot:)

I borrowed these books from the library. I didn't notice the return date was yesterday so they are overdue. Allow me to pay the fine.
