How to use synonyms properly

Hi All,

Sorry if this is not the right place for asking this, I'm new to this site.

I have been searching now for a long time for somewhere to learn how to very accurately use words in my writings. For exmple the differences between a shriek or a holler or a scream and many words like this. I want to know where exactly we use each of them. Can anyone please help me? or introduce a source relating to this topic?

That' a tough one. I don't know of any formula. It's a labor of love. Maybe watching a lot of old movies would help you to associate the right situation with the right word. Write for fun, and keep a thesaurus handy to jog your memory.

Best wishes, - A.
