How to use oneself?

1. Is this a correct expression?
2. In this context, can I use both parts and aspects?

People around me, especially my friends" often help me discover the parts(=aspects) of myself I am unaware of.

2. I prefer to use "aspects." "Parts" is too close to the physical "body parts." "Aspects" is conceptual. And omit the definite article.

Because you really can't predict which specific aspects would be revealed. People are complex; they have thousands of aspects.
