How to use 'merely' in this sentence?

Dear All,

How should I properly use the word merely in this sentence? Should I use inversion after not only?

Our scope of business is not limited merely to planning and surveying, but also...

The intended one was supposed to be the one about overseas activity...

CliveThe word .'merely' does not serve much purpose here.
Should I replace it with only?

The phrase 'limited to' already implies 'only', so you don't really need 'only'.

If you say 'merely to China', it also implies that China 'is not much, which sounds odd because it is such a huge and important country.
