How to use join

Is it correct to use "join " in a sense that I was absent from the lesson.

for example;

I did not join my piano lesson last Saturday.

Hi,

Very, very generally speaking, you 'join' other people who are doing the same thing.

In your example, you are the only student doing the piano lesson.
