How to use 'if'?

What are the correct sentences below and why is one wrong?
Did I write the above sentence correct? Or should it be: 'Which sentences are correct, and why are some of them wrong or correct?

If I want to ask a question then...
When I want to ask a question then...

You can easily be number one, if you work hard.
You can easly be number one, when you work hard.

One more question about did and have. What is the difference between the last two sentences?

Did I write the above sentence correct?
Have I writtten the above sentence correct?

In my opinion they have the same meaning. Can someone shed some light about my questions?
