How to use being

I am not native speaker of english, I usually get confused with use of being , can someone please say which below one sentance is correct and why?
Aamir had memory problem after being hit over his head at his fiance's house.
Aamir had memory problem after he was hit over his head at his fiance's house.

I would make a couple of small changes in the sentences (see below), but either way of wording the statement is correct. Aamir had a memory problem after being hit on over his head at his fiance's house. Aamir had a memory problem after he was hit on over his head at his fiance's house.

Yes, "ing" words look the same. However, a gerund and a participle are used differently.

A gerund is a verb form used as a noun.
A participle is a verb form used as an adjective (a modifier).

One more query...

Is the below example correct?, basically context of the sentence is, I am senior member in my team and my manager wants me to contribute more in people development activities.

Example: Being a senior member of the team, steave can contribute more for people development?
