How to use "," (2)

Could you tell me if the sentence below look correct?

#1 Bob, who(m) I know very well is very tall.

The correct version is #2 Bob, who(m) I know very well, is very tall.

I'm wondering if I can omit "," before "is"...

Thank you in advance!
