How to understand this sentence with "to produce"?

Does this sentence make sense with "to produce"?
Here is the quotation

We present a simple synthetic strategy by gas flow directed assembly of a unique interlocking alignment of the Si nanowires (SiNWs) to produce.
"produce" is a transitive verb but there is nothing coming after it. So the sentence seems a bit confusing to me. So how to understand it?
Thanks in advance.

It's not a correct sentence. I doubt that it was written by a native speaker.

No. Not unless you take "produce" as the noun meaning "fruits and vegetables", in which case the nanowires are uniquely interlocked and aligned with bananas, cabbages, and the like.
