How to understand the sentence?

This crop does not do well in soils other than the one for which it has been specially developed.

I know the phrase"other than" and "not...other than", but I don't know what "the one", for which" and "it" refer to.

This crop does not do well in soils other than the one for which it has been specially developed. The one - soil (the only soil which the crop grows well in) It - The crop (the crop has been specially developed to grow well in that one particular soil) I hope I've been clear.
