How to understand the last sentence?

This International Standard applies to electronic apparatus designed to be fed from the MAINS or from a SUPPLY APPARATUS and intended for reception, generation, recording or reproduction respectively of audio, video and associated signals. Hi, CalifJim. could you please explain the last sentence "It also applies to apparatus designed to be used exclusively in combination with the above mentioned apparatus " more clearly. I still can't understand it. : (

The second sentence is about the devices which can only be used when combined with those described in the first sentence. They cannot be used separately or in combination with some other apparatus. They were specially designed to be used together with some of the apparatus described in the first sentence.
