How to translate rubare il tempo
Hi,
today I wanted to translate from Italian, this phrase: " Non intendo rubarti tanto tempo" so in English, translated word by word it would be "I do not intend to "steal" much time" but I don´t believe that this verb "to steal" is correct here.
I know that "to steal" is used to describe theft so I was wondering if it can be used in this context as well.
I have found in the dictionary an alternative verb: "to take up" could it work?
