How to tell positions

Hi. Let us presume that the three items -- cups, a teapot and plates -- are placed next to each other in a shelf. How should we phrase the positions of them?

Are these correct grammatically? Concentrating on the position of two.

The teapot is left of cups.

The teapot is to the left of cups.

The teapot is placed to the left of cups.

The teapot is on the left of cups.

Say 'the cups'. You are referring to specific cups.

The teapot is left of the cups

Hi. If the supposed placement configuration is as it was indicated, then the logical place for plates to be is somewhere (I don't how far or how near to the cups) to the right of cups. Anyway, thank you for your help.

Hi,

I see nothing in the statements you have given us that tells us anything about the position of the plates. All we know is that they are on the shelf.

Best wishes, Clive
