How to teach advanced english

i've taught advanced english for nearly a year, but have found that i wasn't really doing it systematically. are there any teachers here that can shed some light on the order of grammatical items they are usually teaching? i want to do my teaching more systematically.

Even if you aren't working towards an exam, you could start by looking at an exam syllabus. The handbooks Cambridge publish include 'inventaries
