How to say this?

Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me what am I supposed to say in the following situation?
My 3 year old child is now being taught by the same teacher who taught me when I was of the same age. Now I am talking to my former teacher-:How incredible! You taught me and now you are teaching my 2nd generation.(Is 2nd generation correct here?) What would be a appropiate sentence here?
Thanks!
