How to say it in English - no. x4: imperfect apples

Dear Users,

I've attached 3 pictures of apples and I'd like to know how to describe them. None of them is perfectly shaped nor has perfect colors but what I can't name is those "scars", "cuts" and "bruises" they've got on the peel. In the third picture you'll find apples with "stains" on the peel. What words do we use when talking about these apples? When we talk about about human skin we use bruises, cuts, scars etc.

Top answer

The first is badly bruised, the second is cut or scarred, and the third is diseased.

Fruit can also be bruised, as well as scabby (quite informal) and rotten.
