How to say it in English no. 3: a test in football?

Hello there,

In some PE classes teachers require students to pass tests in (I don't know if this sentence is correct) sports such as football, volleyball or basketball. Do we say:

Today in the afternoon we're having a test in football.

Thanks!

Thanks MM.

I'm not quite sure what skills might be tested but I suppose shooting skills and running for starters... perhaps penalty shootout might be included as well... or headers.

Is there any other way to say:

a test in physics

Sure. Or 'exam'.
Perfect StrangerI assume both of them are correct but are there any other ways to express it?
