How to say it?

Hi! everyone. I have a problem in saying this sentence.
Q1- Scenario-I am sitting in my college cafeteria with one of my friends,now I see another guy(actually that guy was my friend in the school days but we fighted on some dispute during ending days of school since that day we no more are friends ) entering the cafeteria, as I see him entering I tell my friend."You know he has also been my friend for 5 years in school"(Is this sentence correct here?)
