How to say I'm working to replace someone in an introduction letter?

I come to a new company and want to write an email to my foreign colleagues to inform them that I'm now working to replace Miss..., how should I say it? Can I say: I'm working in place of..., is that correct?

Start by writing as if you were speaking directly to one of your foreign colleagues. Explain the situation in a logical and structured manner. Perhaps making an outline of your thoughts before you begin to write will help.
