Hi, everyone, I'm always confused with "floor", don't know how to say it correctly. Now, supposed I'm living in a building which has more than 5 floors, and I'm on the 3th floor. Then , if I say "the next floor", which floor it means? the 2th or the 4th? Are the following phrases correct? "the next lower floor", "the next floor up", 'the next floor down', 'the next floor below'. And if I want to refer to the 1th floor, what should I say? 'the next two floor down'? 'the two next floor down'? And how about the 5th floor?
Are the 'upstairs' and 'downstairs' only used in a building which only has two floors?
I'm a beginner, if there's any wrong above, please correct them, please.
Thanks.
"the next floor" probably means the next floor up (unless you are descending), but it is clearer to say explicitly: The next floor up/down. One/two/three/etc. floor(s) up/down.

Often, but not necessarily.
