How to respond to "nice to meet you"

Hi there,

I've read the conversation:

A: Hi, it's nice to meet you.
B: Hiya, and you.

I wonder if B's response is appropriate. If so, what does "and you" mean in the context?

Please give me some more ways to respond to A.

Thanks.

Yes, it's appropriate. These have the same meaning and also work: It's nice to meet you, too. You, too.
