How to reply politely when someone asks me for thoughts on a subject that I don't have much knowledge

Hi,

I sent a feature request to the developers of a software. They explained the technical details of the feature, and asked me "What are your thoughts on this?"

But I don't have much experiences on software development. What I'm trying to reply is: "Thanks for your detailed reply. sorry, but I don't have much experiences on software development, so I'm afraid I couldn't give much thoughts on this".

Is there anything wrong with my reply? I have a feeling that the my reply might not be polite, because they replied my feature question with carefully written technical details, but my reply seems too short, simple, and unthoughtful.

Thanks in advance.
