Letter of recommendation
In my position as a chairman judge at the patent court of Hamburg I was supervisor of Melanie Name during two of her trainee lawyer periods (stages) from the first of January 200X until the 31 March 200X and from the first of August 200Y until the 30 November 200Y, where she was appointed to work as an assistant to me.
The following performance evaluation is based on having worked together with her during the two mentioned periods:
Melanie is an very well educated, very well organised, fast-learning and extremely thorough lawyer with special skills and interests in the civil procedure law. Whilst working for me and preparing judical opinions and statements she gained knowledge in patent law , trade mark law, utility model law and design law and was able to apply it very well and almost flawlessly to the oncomming law cases.
She is very professional and efficient in her approach to work as well as deducated her tasks. She showed the ability to write short but precise judical opinions even for complex cases, which are common in patent law.
I sure would recommend her for the position of a judge of a specialized patent court, where she can use her legal and technology expertise very well.
In addition, Melanie has excellent social skills and for me it was a pleasure to work with her. Her contributions to the discussions of the members of the patent court were very well received.
In my opinion Melanie will make a valuable addition to any organization that she may join.
