How to punctuate this

Hi. Please tell me what is the correct way to punctuate the following. Should there be another comma before the conjunction "and" before the word "she"?

She said she didn't like making dolls, but there she was a great participant and she was making more dolls than anybody in the group.

How about this? I took the word "there" out. Thank you in advance for your help.

She said she didn't like making dolls, but she was a great participant and she was making more dolls than anybody in the group.

I'd do this.
She said she didn't like making dolls but there she was, a great participant, and she was making more dolls than anybody in the group.

A comma isn't required before the conjunction that separates two independent clauses?

You mean before the 'but'? It wouldn't be wrong, but to me this sentence flows more smoothly without it.

It's not a great sentence, using both 'and' and 'but' the way it does,
