How to prounounce -ed in words like animated?

I'm a little confused since Wiktionary says it's pronounced like -t?d
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/animated

whereas the Merriam-Webster's dictionary say's it's pronounced like -t?d.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/animated

Which one is correct? Or has this something to do with the dialect? And are all words like this pronounced the same way e.g. dotted or winded?
Thank you for the answers in advance.

That would be ~tid. com. Actually the word "animated" would have ending "did" in USA accent.

Before a d in the past tense ending -ed it sounds a lot like a lax i, even th
