How to pronounce "This" in certain occasions?

Hi, I recently watched the trailer from Stark Trek (2009) and I like, for practice, to pronounce
sentences from movies lol, it's kind of cool.

And Eric Bana said "I've been waiting for this day my whole life".

I know, well I think, you're supposed to get your tongue out when you say "This" or "Those" etc..

But to say "For this", it's really hard and not natural for me to get my tongue out. I tend to keep my mouth inside and pronounce this with my tongue touching my upper palate. Anyway, I just wanted to know if I can or have to pronounce it in another way or I really have to pronounce it with my tongue out.

Thank you!

Your tongue should be touching (the bottom of) your front teeth to get the "th" in "this" correct. If not, you are instantly identified as "someone with a (foreign) accent."
