How do I pronounce the ending "s" after a word in English? Like "jobs", "portals". The standard phonetic transcription shows it is pronounced as /z/, however when I listen to Google translation's pronunciation and try its voice recognition, I found it is really like a voice between /s/ and /z/. It means it is not pronounced so strong like /z/ in other situations like "has", "please", "haze". Any comment on this?

Your analysis is correct. It's /z/, but a milder, gentler variety.
