As an extention to what Marius wrote, remember that all kings and queens 'numerals' are pronounced as ordinal numbers: first second, third... rather than cardinal numbers: one, two, three...

All use Roman numerals rather than modern numbers. I = 1, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4...

And all have 'the' placed between their name and the number.

Therefore:

Elizabeth II is Elizabeth the Second.

Henry VIII is Henry the Eighth.

Bit overtired when I wrote it as it was nearly 4 AM...

I think it was one of those times when you are thinking of two different expressions which end up being combined into one, as I was considering using:

'In addition to' as an alternative to 'as an extension to', but which ended up being 'as an extention to' due to the lateness of the hour.
