I'm a learner, i'm can't understand this word sounds like the same thing as CAN to me, i consider myself courageous cuz i'm learning english alone, since I was a kid a had many books in english.

That happens to me, too. Sometimes it's hard to tell which word is being said. In my dialect, the "t" is a glottal stop.
