How to pronounce Available quickly without mistakes

Question

I find difficult to pronounce the work AVAILABLE with a good English intonation. It sounds funny when I say it. Has anyone a tip I could follow to get it right?

I think it's difficult for a lot of people. I have no idea of your cultural background, but I know a lot of Hispanic people (such as my wife) who seem naturally careless about distinguishing V's and B's. Sometimes they pronounce Buena Vista as Vuena Bista.

My suggestion - Practice it without the "A." (Vay - la - bull). Make sure you have a good "v-v-v" sound started, and then really sock (accent / stress) the first syllable, keeping the other two light and quick. Practice it until you can do it really fast, but make sure the "B" sound is always clear.

Then work on the first part. (a - VAY). Keep the "a" light and quick, and keep the "VAY" a bit long, and very strong.

When you're comfortable with that, go back to the first exercise again. Repeat it several times, then the second one again.

Then put them together.

Then get some rest. (If you're not tired, you haven't been working hard enough!)

Hold a pencil horizontally under your upper lip. Use it to lift your upper lip slightly. You should be able to say the V comfortably without touching your lower lip to the pencil if you're doing it right, more or less less gently biting a narrow strip of your lower lip.

(When you get to the B, your lower lip must touch the pencil.)
