Hi,
How is ALONA pronounced - the girl's forename?
Is is Alon-A or Alon-a, or something else?
Perhaps ryhmes with Helena?
Thanks.

I think a proper name can be pronounced just about any way the owner chooses.

Unless you're using a different meaning of the word "rhymes", I don't think so...I've known women named "Helena" with three pronunciations, /'he l@n@/, /h@'leI n@/, or /,he'li n@/ ("****-uh-nuh", "huh-LAY-nuh" and "****-LEE-nuh" if you prefer

Is her name Russian, or derived from it?
There is a fairly common Russian girl's name, spelled ALENA, with the E having an umlaut (two dots over it), and pronounced "alYOna". Sometimes spoken as "ah-LONE-ah".

But don't go by me.
