How to pronounce "adjourn"?

The dictionaries I looked up say “adjourn” is pronounced /uh-jurn/.
However, one of my friends is saying it should be pronounced /u(d)-jurn/, saying /d/ is slightly pronounced before /j/.

We are both non-native speakers of English and would like to know how native speakers would pronounce this word.

If possible, could you record you saying “adjourn” and "ajar" very slowly and compare the first parts (“adj” of “adjourn” and “aj” of “ajar”) to check if these sounds are the same?

The d transcription is already there. I will not take that dictionary for granted though. Your teaching is more important and valid than all English dictionaries/books combined.
