How to place a water bottle?

Could you tell if this is clear and how you would phrase it?

1 Place the water bottle upright upside down on its cap so that the water is at the spout half full and that the base is full of air.

2 Place the bottle vertically on its body so that that water in it is covering the base of the bottle that's touching the table you've placed it on.

Thanks

You might say: Stand the half-full bottle of water on its cap. Note: It is not really necessary to then say what the water in the bottle will look like, since people will know this intuitively, once you say the bottle is stood on its cap. In fact, how the water will look is so obvious, intuitively, that a description of it would never actually be said.

  • I'm a native English speaker in the US, and I myself don't know how you would describe the appearance of the water, since I've never said, or heard, this kind of description before in my entire life.
